Participants
What participants see
The participant’s journey from opening your link to the thank-you page.
Participants don’t need an account or an app. Everything happens in their browser, in the language they choose.
- 1They open your link. A short loading screen, then “Ready for a quick chat?” For voice studies, the browser asks for the microphone.
- 2Before you begin. Your participant instructions, if you wrote any. They choose I understand, continue.
- 3Intro video, if you added one. If it’s required, they watch it to the end before they can join.
- 4Their details. Name and email (both required), and the interview language if you offer more than one. Then Join session.
- 5The interview. The screen shows “Research session” with a Recording indicator. In voice interviews they talk, and can mute themselves, type in the chat, choose Mute AI to read the interviewer’s replies instead, share their screen on a computer, or share up to 10 photos. In chat interviews they type.
- 6Things you show. When your guide says so, images, videos or prototypes appear on screen with “Your interviewer is showing” and the title. A website you keep open sits beside the conversation.
- 7The end. The interviewer wraps up when time is up, or they choose End. They see a thank-you page and can close the tab.
The best preview is to take part yourself: open your study link in another tab and go through it.
