Studies and interview guides
Show images, videos and prototypes
Put things on the participant’s screen during the interview, or keep a website open the whole time.
In What participants see › Show during the interview, add up to 10 things the interviewer can show. Give each a title and use that title in your guide to say when to show it, for example “After they describe their last purchase, show Ad concept A.”
What you can add
| Type | Formats and limits |
|---|---|
| Add image | PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF, up to 20 MB |
| Add video | Up to 500 MB |
| Add website or prototype | Any https link: a live site or a Figma, Framer or similar prototype |
Each item has a title (up to 80 characters) and optional Notes for the AI (up to 1,000 characters): what it is and what you want to learn. Participants don’t see the notes.
Keep a website open for the whole interview
When you add a website, tick Keep it open for the whole interview. It opens beside the interview from the start and the interviewer knows it’s there, which suits usability sessions. It doesn’t count towards the 10, and only one website can stay open.
Some sites don’t allow being shown inside another page; they open in a new tab instead. On phones, websites always open as a link. Try your study link yourself first.
What the participant sees
When the interviewer shows something, a panel says “Your interviewer is showing” with its title, and the image, video or site appears next to the conversation. On phones it appears above the chat.
